Painting for God’s Pleasure

Having ridden horses for years, I understand equines. On the way to work, I sometimes pass the Old Agoura show ring and admire riders exercising their horses. It makes me think of the glorious Day when I’ll be able to ride again (I love how Revelation 19:14 describes Jesus returning to Earth on a white horse, with thousands of saints following on their horses, too). I think horses are one of God’s most magnificent creations, and this rendering I call Watercolor of the Run is my attempt to show the power, grace and dynamism of a horse’s run (I thought that the fluid, wet strokes of watercolor brushes would convey more motion). By the way, the Joni and Friends team has reproduced this painting into a beautiful print with a black-wood frame, ready for the wall or table top. It means a lot to this artist that JAF has put up several other of my paintings in our store. Take a look :-).
