"Then Jesus said, ‘Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’” Matthew 11:28

All year long, families with a disabled child live on the edge of exhaustion. There are sleepless nights… endless medical appointments… challenges at school… financial pressures. Caring for their loved one demands every resource, and is non-stop 24/7 care.

Families affected by disability desperately need a place where they can let down their guard and breathe in God’s renewing presence. They’re hungry for spiritual encouragement and heart-to-heart connection with others who experience the same things they do. That’s exactly what happens at Family Retreat! Many families will call it “A slice of heaven!”

Short-Term Missionaries (STMs) are prayerfully matched beforehand to each special-needs child or adult. STMs have an incredible opportunity to make an impact in a special-needs family’s life. And in the process, Christ pours His blessing out into their lives, too! Thank you for bringing Jesus’ joy, hope, and rest to families at Family Retreats!

I love reading about all of the support you are providing these children and their families. It is so needed!! I want to tell you about a wonderful new resource I just found, (the parents will really appreciate this one), Space of Love by Gayle Nobel was such refreshing and heartfelt tribute to parents and children of special needs, specifically Autism. I'm telling everyone about it because it is a resource we all need. I hope you will check it out, I found more info on Gayle here,
