boy receives restored wheelchair

Do you or someone you know have an unused wheelchair? You can donate that wheelchair to Joni and Friends and be a vital part of bringing mobility to someone with a disability! Our volunteer organization, called Chair Corps, collects used wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and canes to be restored and delivered to people with a disability in developing countries, who can’t afford a wheelchair. The Chair Corps team makes it easy to donate wheelchairs or other mobility equipment by providing local drop-off sites or in many cases a pick-up service for your wheelchair. Click here to enter your zip code and find a Chair Corps volunteer in your area. And you don’t have to do this alone. This life-changing gift is a wonderful opportunity for community-wide involvement! This is a great project for your church, volunteer organization, business, or local hospital. And if you or your service group is ready to do more, check back next week to see how you can host a wheelchair drive in your community!

It is a one year wait to receive a grant to get a handicapped vehicle approved. Is there an organization that either donates or sells at a discount, a handicapped vehicle for use for a pediatric (5yr old) CP child? My friend is the custodian of her granddaughter whose parents have addiction issues. She is struggling to find resources and I am advocating on her behalf. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for a used car for my grandson who lost his leg due to a drug overdose. He is clean now but struggling to find work within walking distance from his house. Mostly just fast food type jobs that doesn't pay enough for him to get a car with hand controls. He lives in a horrible house with an alcoholic father. Do people ever donate used cars like that? Thank you, grandma Judy

I have been blessed with a new electric wheelchair. I would like to donate my old electric wheelchair. It has new batteries, headrest, multiple adjustments, and it would be perfect for a young child. I only weigh 92 pounds. So not a real large chair. Comes with charger and x-Tra caster wheels. The only problem! I don't drive and I don't know how to get this wheelchair to you. We live in priest river, idaho! Please help! Cindy

My wife, Joyce, and I have several manual wheel chairs in varying conditions, along with various parts. We also have 2 working electric wheelchairs that need new batteries. One is an elaborate Chairman multi adjustable chair (new cost $20,000+). It was donated to us a few years ago, but I never used it much. I prefer manual chairs for the exercise value. Joni, you may remember doing a radio ad for The White Buffalo in Sesser, IL. We so appreciated you taking the time and effort to do that for us! It was hands down the most effective ad we ever used. Thank you.
