How To Think Positive This Christmas

Christmas… the season for pie baking, gift shopping, tree decorating, and ice-skating. But what if your arthritic hands can no longer detangle Christmas lights? What if your paralyzed legs restrain you from skating on ice? Or your aging eyes can no longer read your classic family recipe? If this Christmas, you find yourself wishing you could do more or have more, you’re not alone. When Joni was first injured, she wrestled with many of these real, day-to-day struggles of being disabled over the holidays. But friend, you don’t have to be in a wheelchair to feel like you’re missing out during the Christmas season. With Christmas sales galore, holiday parties everywhere, and family photos that look like they’re straight out of Parents Magazine … it’s easy to feel left out. It’s why Joni would like to share with you how, rather than focusing on what you don’t have, you can focus on all that God has given you this Christmas: His precious Son, Jesus. So, take a moment to watch this short, Christmas video greeting from Joni and then, share it with someone you know who needs a spiritual lift this Christmas. Oh, and don’t forget to listen to Joni on the radio this week for some very special Christmas messages.

I've been very encouraged today by listening to you and Ken on youtube, encouraged to rejoice in all things, trust the Lord b/c He is faithful and sovereign and that the weaker He makes me, the stronger He becomes in me. Thank you for wanting to give and bless others, my dear sister and brother. May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you throughout this coming New Year. Praise and glory to God! :)

Hi, Joni! You are amazing. I have seen a few videos of you on YouTube before seeing this message. I am a retired RN and widowed. I have seen many angry and bitter people during my career. I have also met the special people that inspired me during a time of great personal hardship for them. The Bible tells us to think of good things when we become troubled as does the character of the nun, Maria, in the Sound of Music movie when she tells the children in song to think of their favorite things when they feel sad. It is wise instruction because Satan loves to fuel our misery with thoughts that hurt us. In thinking about what we have with a grateful heart, rather than what we do not have, we are choosing to turn our eyes to God. He is our strength and has been always. I have learned in my personal journey that thoughts that pain me are not coming from a loving God.

Christmas Blessings right back to you, Joni! I have loved you for many years. First I saw your movie, then, for years I read your devotion books and gave them as gifts to friends and family. I came to know and Love you....and, Ken, as well, through your writings. One year at FBC, Dallas at a ladies luncheon, I had you autograph one of my books that I had used as a journal. Love and prayers, Janice Young, Terrell, TX

Dear Joni, Thank you for sharing the Christmas Message, I can relate. After years of seperation and on the verge of divorce , my Husband decided to finally try to be together again as a family and make our marriage relationship work. I have traveled overseas to live with him along with bringing our 8 yr old daugther, and let me tell you, I have much to thank God for... though we have only been here for a week now, there are moments where I am truly in a battle to 'give myself', please.. pray for me to have Christ like Courage as I step into each new day here with my Husband. Thank you. Domenica.
