Our Cause 4 Life Interns in Mexico!

Last week, our Arizona Cause 4 Life interns traveled to Rocky Point, Mexico to serve the disability community. On their first day, the team visited a school for students with special needs. They had so much fun playing games and spending time with each of the students – it was amazing to see how much joy was found in a few beach balls and a couple games of Duck, Duck, Goose!

After their visit to the school, they were able to be a part of a wheelchair distribution. And what an impact those chairs had on each person there! One intern had the opportunity to pray with a 26-year old man and his family before he received his chair. Because of his disability, this man’s father had carried him into the clinic. For the past 26 years, he had either lied in bed or was carried whenever they left the house. The team fit this man into a reclining chair with customized cushions in order to make him as comfortable as possible. Once in his chair, he was finally able to relax and move around on his own! With tears in their eyes and gratitude in their hearts, the man and his family headed home.

For the remainder of the trip, the interns partnered with a disability ministry at the local church where they were a part of a respite day, a Luke 14 dinner, and a Sunday morning service. The respite day gave parents the opportunity to rest for a few hours without worrying about finding care for their children. And in order to prepare for the Luke 14 dinner, members of the church went out into the community and brought in individuals with disabilities and their families. The dinner ended with a performance from several of the people there, which was a special moment for everyone!

We’re so thankful for our Cause 4 Life interns and their desire to make a difference in the disability community. They shared that the trip was a great experience for the entire team and it was filled with so many sweet glimpses into heaven!
