Washington Restoration Center

The used wheelchairs collected by our dedicated Wheels for the World Chair Corps volunteers come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and conditions. Before these wheelchairs can be delivered to people affected by disability overseas, they are restored at Restoration Centers located within correctional facilities across the United States. Here, inmates learn mechanical skills to restore each wheelchair to like-new condition, putting in to practice Ephesians 4:28: "Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands..." As they work, inmates hear stories of lives changed through their efforts – people in desperate need receiving the gift of a wheelchair and life-changing gospel – and many inmates have accepted Christ as their Savior!

This month, our newest Restoration Center located in Washington State sent their first container of restored wheelchairs to people with disability in Thailand. Hundreds of individuals, families, and caregivers will be blessed by their hard work!

Want to get involved with Wheels for the World? You can help us reach our goal of providing another 100,000 wheelchairs by 2020 by donating a wheelchair or serving at one of our upcoming outreaches!
