Sylvia and AldeaAldea in her new pediatric wheelchair

Your prayers truly are powerful and effective! Just ask a mother like Sylvia who lives in Romania. Her little girl, Aldea, was born with a disability, in a country where help is not readily available. Here’s Sylvia’s story, but it’s really your story too … because it began with your powerful and effective prayer! “Joni and Friends is coming!” Among mothers of children with disabilities, word spread like wildfire in the small village where Sylvia and Aldea live. Wheelchairs for our children! The news was almost too good to be true. “I always hoped to find a wheelchair somewhere, somehow – but they are very expensive and we could never afford one,” explained Sylvia. “For years we have carried Aldea, but now that she’s 5 years old, that’s impossible.” Because she has never had the right seat, she can’t sit up for more than 10 minutes at a time. So even though she is bright and curious, Aldea has spent most of her time in bed. Your prayers sent exactly the right wheelchair for Aldea! Joni and Friends’ Wheels for the World volunteer therapists are dedicated professionals – they recognized that Aldea needed a wheelchair that would strengthen her muscles and teach her to sit up properly. And the perfect wheelchair was ready and waiting in our shipment, just for Aldea! “My little girl will now be able to go for walks in the sunshine again and to school in a nearby village!” said Sylvia. “These are things we only dreamed of. They were prayers we prayed, not truly believing God could answer them. Today, He has given us our greatest dream-come-true! We see His answer before us, with our own eyes!”
