Chair Corps

Often, I blog about our amazing Joni and Friends volunteers—I just can’t help myself. This ministry would not function without their help. Every one of our departments depends on people willing to serve—especially Wheels for the World. Our Chair Corps team consists of over 350 volunteers, and are these people dedicated! Today, June 17, Cindy Leonard, a Chair Corp member is coordinating a wheelchair drive at Trinitarian Congregational Church in Wayland, Massachusetts. This church has financially supported Cindy’s efforts since 2002 and it doesn’t stop there. Serving Joni and Friends for the past 14 years, Cindy’s wheelchair-collection team has grown to 30 members. This group is doing all they can to bring in wheelchairs, and each one represents a changed life. Not only will the wheelchair-recipient gain mobility; they will also receive the Gospel.

So today, as Cindy and her team collect, lift, store, and transport wheelchairs, walkers, canes and crutches, remember, they are sowing into God’s kingdom. Doesn’t that just make you smile?! Pray for Cindy and her team today. And if you know someone living near Wayland, Massachusetts, tell them to drop by and give Cindy a hug!

I pray a blessing upon you and your team for the good work you are doing for the Lord. Last week I bought a wheelchair for a crippled boy who got stricken by polio when he was sick. Because the parents didn't know how to help their son, they confined him to the house and he could only crowl to school a mile away. But right now he can move with much ease. Had I known you i would have sought for your assistance. Pastor Christopher, Kitale. Kenya.

Thank you Joni and friends for all that you have done for our kids from Spastics society of Karnataka through the Wheels for the world programme. We miss you all a lot here in Bengaluru ,Karnataka, India. Your team helped to build up customised seating and positioning for some of our children and forever be thankful for these. I remember how those weeks when your team was there , our therapists also joined and shared thoughts. Thanks so much. If possible and god willing , I pray that it again happens and these kids and adolescence get help contuously . May god bless you all always ! Thanks from all of us.
