Cause 4 Life Uganda MissionIn the heart of Uganda’s capital city of Kampala is a school full of some of the brightest smiles in the country. The children a the school spend their mornings in the classroom and the afternoons playing outside. And with a life so simple, you might not wonder about those smiles, except that each child has a disability. The haven for these special needs children shelters them from a society that detests physical disabilities and misunderstood behaviors. So what brings a smile to their faces? Their joy comes from the love and care they receive from teachers and staff at the Kampala School for the Physically Handicapped. Over the past five years, interns have had the opportunity to visit the school and staff and enter a world of disability outside their own context. Exposing the team of interns to a life of disability in a developing country such as Uganda, pushes them to seek God’s sovereignty in some of the darkest circumstances. Beauty is found when the internship team comes together to use their gifts and skills to encourage the school staff, resource the teachers and therapists, and love on the kids that society does not understand.

This year, our team of interns will be joined by students at Africa Renewal University. Together they’ll be trained on the Biblical view of disability and provide hands-on service at the school. This internship is a wonderful opportunity to exemplify the body of Christ around the world. If you or someone you know is interested in being a part of this new adventure, sign up today!
