As a part of our internship program, interns receive hands-on disability ministry experience, often serving on an international mission trip. Recently, we had a team of interns return from a very encouraging and fruitful trip to Uganda – it was filled with opportunities to show God’s love to many people touched by disability! Here’s an exciting update from our internship team leader:

“The Uganda trip was absolutely amazing! We were able to serve at the school in the classrooms, train special education teachers, and put on VBS activities. We also served on a field trip to the airport and wildlife center, at a hydrotherapy session at a local pool, and on a home visit. The field trip was absolutely eye opening for the interns because they were able to see first-hand how non-accessible it is for those with disabilities in other countries… And one of the most amazing things that happened while we were there was visiting a local parent’s home who had a child with cerebral palsy. The mother is HIV positive and very ill at times. We listened to her story, we encouraged her, and we prayed over her and her son, Shadrack. The mother was so blessed by our visit that she regained hope and confidence over herself and her family, quoting, ‘I feel rejuvenated again.’ It was such an amazing experience!”

Thank you for praying for our interns! Please continue to pray as we send out another team of interns to Haiti to practice “Christianity with their sleeves rolled up!”
