Alexia with the “In countries like mine [Romania], having a disabled child like Alexia brings despair because of prejudice and social poverty,” said Simona, who brought her daughter to a recent Wheels for the World outreach. “We have no hope of gaining what we need for our children.” So Simona turned to God and began to pray for an answer. “Instead of hopeless, I began to find hope in God as I prayed.” And God’s hope does not disappoint! Your support and prayer supplied little Alexia with a beautiful pediatric wheelchair, which was carefully fitted to her by a Wheels team therapist. And for the very first time, Alexia is able to sit up and see clearly in front of her. With every wheelchair and Bible you give through Wheels for the World, a disabled child or adult also receives Joni’s autobiography. Her story of faith in Jesus, even in the midst of hardship, opens hearts to the Savior. When Joni tells her heartfelt, real-life story, disabled children and adults come face-to-face with God’s love for them, too. “You have opened the impossible door for Alexia!” said Simona. “Alexia is eager to learn and understand. But most important – today she has experienced God’s love through your hands. Today, she truly sees clearly in front of her for the first time!”
